Liquid Light displays have paper-like appearance and brightness.
The electrofluidic display uses a thin ink film to open or close a pixel. The thinner the film, the larger the opening. With the current state of technology, this opening percentage (aperture) is around 80%, in due time we expect to reach 90% or more.
